Santa Catalina the Island of Romance

We just celebrated our 10th anniversary in May and Ben surprised me by planning a trip down to Catalina Island. We had so much fun. Both of us had never been, everything was perfect. We fed the fish, visited all of the ice cream parlors, went for walks, rented bikes, saw the botanical gardens, went to the famous Casino (which we found out is not a gambling casino. Casino also means a gathering place for social amusement-interesting) and watched a movie in the amazing art deco theater inside the casino, we went kayaking and snorkeling, we saw tons of fish and seals, so we had a ton of fun and highly recommend going sometime. We were there 3 days, just us, no kids, it was awesome. Sure, we totally missed the kids, but they had so much fun with Grandma and Grandpa. We've never left the kids for more that a night, so I was a little nervous, but it was worth it to have a lot of one on one time, and we knew they were safe and happy with Grandma and Grandpa.

Here I am about to touch a cactus at the botanical gardens. Fyi - Cactus touching is a big no no-doi.

Here we are in our stinky wetsuits. Have you ever worn a wetsuit? This was my first time and man they are stinky!
We had fun on these cruisers.

BIG Grin

Bridger has loved being in costumes lately. He has been a dinosaur a lot and Pooh this one time. His little police scooter was having a pretty hard time climbing the drive way :) This picture reminds me of the Guinness Book of World Records where there are a couple of fat guys on motorcycles - funny.

Bridger has the biggest grin!! So cute!

And don't worry, he's getting a hair cut this week.

A Funny Thing Brandon Does

This was way back in cold February.
Ben & Brandon went sledding up at Bogus Basin here in Idaho . They had such a fun time. We thought Brandon would be too scared to go down, but he really loved it.

So, Brandon does this funny crooked smile thing when he is really happy. It is so funny, he does it a lot, and it is so cute. This kid is a funny kid.

Bishop's Business Card - Funny

I was just going through some old emails and found a funny one that I didn't want to delete, so I'll put it on here for all to enjoy.

Bishop's Business Card
A Bishop was visiting in the home of two Ward members, a newlywed couple. At the garden apartment where they lived it was obvious from the giggling inside that someone was at home, but no answer came to his repeated knocks, he even called out to let them know it was he at the door.
Everything had gone silent. Then he took out a business card and wrote "Revelation 3:20" on the back of it and stuck it in the door.

The following Sunday his card was placed in one of the tithing envelopes and given to one of his councilors who in turn returned it to the Bishop. Added to the card was this cryptic message, "Genesis 3:10." Reaching for his Bible to check out the citation, he broke up in gales of laughter. Revelation 3:20 begins "Behold, I stand at the door and knock."

Genesis 3:10 reads, "I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid for I was naked."

Remember when the funniest jokes were the clean ones? They still are! "A cheerful heart is good medicine" (Prov. 17:22)

"Should I Stay Or Should I Go Now"

"If I go there will be trouble
And if I stay there will be double"
Well, umm..... well, it's just that we.......ehhh......changed our minds :) We're going to stay here in the lovely state of Idaho.

So, even though the movers we're only a day away from packing us up and hauling us to the great state of Texas, we decided to call it off. What in the...what? Look, we're human, we're a little nutty sometimes... but you love us anyway, so you'll forgive us for unintentionally psyching you out. Right?

Ben came home last night feeling sick about the whole thing. We talked about it and he felt strongly that although it was an amazing job opportunity that it wasn't the right fit for him and that the lifestyle we'd have in Texas wasn't the right fit for us as a family. So this morning he called the whole thing off. His current employer has been so great throughout this whole thing, and Ben is going to continue working at Horrocks Engineers. I'm really proud of Ben for having the strength to do what he did, it wasn't an easy decision. We are both wiped out from this whole experience. However, I feel that it was a blessing. As we re-evaluated what we have here we gained a newfound appreciation for what we have. What we have right now is perfect for us. It is a good feeling to have more gratitude for what we have, because I don't think were as grateful as we are now.

Thanks to everyone for giving us so much support. We got so many emails, calls, texts & comments from everyone. We really have awesome friends.
