You don't know what you have until its gone

Last week our dishwasher stopped working. The repairman came to check it out and gave us the verdict - your dishwasher is DEAD, as in - gone forever. Goodbye dishwasher, I'm sorry we didn't like you that much and thought you were a worthless peice of you know what while you were still alive. We miss you terribly already. I'm sorry Ben & I hated you from the beginning and thought of you as a hunk of junk, but we've learned how ungrateful we were and want you back. Sure you were inefficient, taking over 2 hours to finish your job, you were exceptionally loud & occasionally things had to be rewashed, but you know, you did the job. But like they always say - out with the old and in with the NEW.

Our best option is to buy a brand new dishwasher. We'll have to wait awhile before we can buy a replacement though. Sadly I've turned to plasticware and don't even think about letting the kids drink from certain sippy cups that have more parts than a car engine. Life was easy back then, now I'm back in the kitchen soaking my my hands in hot soapy water, a reminder of what things we're like when life was "simple."

Lets just hope I don't develope dishpan hands. Whatever that is.

Yea,
Awesome to hear from you!
Thank you so-oo much for the maternity clothes. I especially LOVE the cords! That was very very nice of you.

Sorry to hear about your dishwasher.
That really bites!
I'd much rather lose my stove then my dishwasher.

I have great sympathy for you.

May you be blessed to get it replaced real soon!

Really fun blog entry by the way! It's good to have a giggle once in a while.

Finally after months of checking a post...ah i feel at ease. Sorry to hear your hunk of junk kicked the bucket. Just get ya some of those rubber gloves that go up to your elbow like our moms/grammas use...good times. Maybe you should come down here and stay a bit, ill do all the dishes :)

You guys are alive! Ha ha.
Our dishwasher is heading down the same path I am afraid. I wash the dishes before I put them in and after I take them out. Still, I would miss ours because I can put the dishes in and forget about them until we run out of dishes. I hope you get a new one soon.

Uggh! That sucks! Back to washing dishes in the sink--or just eating on paper plates forever. I think that's what I'd do.
